Starbucks Pink Drink

šŸ“ Copycat recipe Ā· 5 minutes Ā· Built from the 2026 Starbucks label

Starbucks Pink Drink Recipe (Made From the Real Ingredient Label)

Most copycat Pink Drinks use passion tea or cranberry juice. Starbucks uses neither. Here is what its 2026 recipe actually contains, and a homemade version that follows it, with your choice of no caffeine, light caffeine or an energy boost.

To make a Starbucks Pink Drink at home, steep freeze-dried strawberries in white grape juice with a squeeze of lemon, then shake equal parts of that pink base and sweetened carton coconutmilk over ice. That mirrors the official recipe: a white-grape-based strawberry aƧaƭ base, coconutmilk and freeze-dried strawberries. It takes about 5 minutes once the base has steeped.

What’s Actually in a Starbucks Pink Drink

We started with the ingredient list Starbucks publishes for a Grande Pink Drink. It has four parts, and two of them surprise most people:

ComponentWhat Starbucks listsWhat it means for a copycat
Strawberry AƧaĆ Refresher baseWater, sugar, white grape juice concentrate, vegetable and fruit juice for color, citric acid, natural flavors, steviaWhite grape juice is the backbone. There is no aƧaĆ or strawberry juice listed; the flavor comes from ā€œnatural flavors,ā€ and the pink color from vegetable juices.
CoconutmilkWater, coconut cream, cane sugar, gums, vitamins A and DThis is a sweetened carton coconutmilk, not canned coconut milk.
Green coffee extract blendCoffee extract for flavor, B vitamins, citric acidThis is where the caffeine comes from. Since 2026 it is added separately, which is why Starbucks can make the drink caffeine-free, light or extra-caffeinated.
Freeze-dried strawberriesStrawberriesThe only real strawberry in the drink.

That is why recipes built on passion tea taste more floral and tart than the real thing: hibiscus is not in the Starbucks version at all. A white grape and strawberry base gets you much closer.

Homemade Pink Drink Recipe

Makes: 1 Grande (16 oz) Ā· Prep: 5 min + 10 min steeping Ā· Equipment: jar or shaker, strainer

Ingredients

  • ½ cup (4 oz) white grape juice, chilled
  • ¼ cup freeze-dried strawberries, divided (half for steeping, half for the cup)
  • ½ teaspoon lemon juice (stands in for the citric acid)
  • ½ cup (4 oz) sweetened coconutmilk beverage from a carton, chilled
  • Ice to fill the glass
  • Optional: green coffee extract or another caffeine source (see the caffeine options below)

Instructions

  1. Make the pink base. Crush half of the freeze-dried strawberries with your fingers and stir them into the white grape juice with the lemon juice. Let it sit for 10 minutes; the juice turns pink and picks up strawberry flavor.
  2. Strain out the softened strawberry bits for a smooth drink, or leave them in if you like texture.
  3. Shake. Add the base, the coconutmilk and a handful of ice to a jar or shaker. Close it and shake for about 10 seconds, the way baristas hand-shake Refreshers.
  4. Serve. Fill a 16 oz glass with ice and the remaining whole freeze-dried strawberries, then pour the drink over the top.

Choose Your Caffeine Level

Starbucks now sells the Pink Drink three ways. The homemade recipe above is caffeine-free, so you can match whichever version you like:

Starbucks versionCaffeine (Grande)At home
Caffeine-free0 mgMake the recipe as written.
Light caffeine (default)About 50 mgAdd a green coffee extract product dosed to about 50 mg, following the product label.
Energy RefresherAbout 125 mgDose to about 125 mg per the product label. Do not combine with other caffeine without checking your total.
Caffeine values are Starbucks’ approximate figures for a Grande.

Starbucks lists coffee extract in that blend ā€œfor flavor,ā€ so a homemade version without it can taste slightly different from the cafĆ© drink, usually a little fruitier.

Amounts for Every Starbucks Size

Keep the pink base and coconutmilk at a 1:1 ratio and let ice fill the rest of the cup:

SizeCupPink baseCoconutmilk
Tall12 oz3 oz (6 tbsp)3 oz (6 tbsp)

For a pitcher, steep the base for 20 minutes and keep the ice in the glasses, not the pitcher, so it doesn’t water down.

Is there actually aƧaƭ in the Pink Drink?
